Cole Goldberg, former boyfriend of 90 Day Fiancé alum Caroline Schwitzky, receives acquittal on attempted murder charges. A judge delivers the not guilty verdict during a bench trial in West Palm Beach on Thursday, March 12.
Background of the 2022 Altercation
The case stems from an incident at Boca Bash in 2022. Schwitzky accuses Goldberg of holding her head underwater following their breakup. Goldberg denies the claim, stating he tried to save her from an oncoming boat.
Trial Outcome and Reasoning
The judge deliberates overnight before ruling. Inconsistencies in witness testimonies create sufficient reasonable doubt for acquittal.
Goldberg’s lawyers express relief in a statement: “We are all relieved and grateful that this four-year ordeal is over. We had every confidence in Judge Parnofiello’s ability to be fair to both sides and to follow the law. Despite being a young judge, his sense of fairness, intelligence, and reputation for following the law is undisputed.”
Goldberg shares his reaction: “I’m so glad the truth finally came out. I’ve been dealing with this since 2022, so it feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulder. There’s no resentment with Caroline; I just can’t believe she would ever think I could do something like that.” He plans to resume law school in South Florida.
Schwitzky has not commented on the ruling.
Schwitzky’s Reality TV and Personal Life
Schwitzky appears on the first two seasons of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, which debuts in 2016. She serves as talent agent for Paola Mayfield.
After dating Goldberg for a year, Schwitzky marries Jonathan LeBron. She acts as stepmother to his four children from a prior relationship. The couple welcomes son Leo in January 2025.
In a February Instagram post, Schwitzky writes alongside a video of her toddler: “From holding you perfectly still… to chasing you everywhere I go. Same mom, same heart — just running a little faster now. 🤍 Motherhood is the most beautiful kind of busy I’ll ever know.”
