Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Union Minister Shobha Karandlaje organized a large-scale adalat in Dharmadam assembly constituency, Kannur, represented by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan for the past decade.
Event Targets CM Ahead of Assembly Polls
The initiative aims to highlight grievances in Vijayan’s stronghold as the Left Democratic Front (LDF) prepares for upcoming assembly elections, seeking a third consecutive term.
Chandrasekhar announced on social media that residents submitted more than 3,000 petitions during the Friday event.
“In the last ten years, Vijayan could not ensure basic facilities like houses, drinking water supply, and proper roads to many in his constituency,” Chandrasekhar stated. “The huge turnout at the BJP’s mega adalat reflects that people are fed up with bogus assurances and neglect by their MLA. They now seek change.”
Criticism of LDF Governance
Chandrasekhar challenged LDF claims of eradicating extreme poverty, noting persistent issues in the Chief Minister’s own area. He further accused the state government of blocking the Centre’s Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme for around 20 lakh elderly citizens due to political motives.
The BJP’s effort gains prominence following the party’s enhanced performance in previous polls across CPM-dominated regions.
