Key Features of the Proposal
The corridors target vital economic, industrial, and cultural hubs, promising shorter travel times, streamlined logistics, and equitable development across regions. Sitharaman emphasized that these projects will integrate technology centers with manufacturing zones and densely populated areas.
Proposed High-Speed Rail Routes
The seven corridors include:
- Mumbai to Pune
- Pune to Hyderabad
- Hyderabad to Bengaluru
- Hyderabad to Chennai
- Chennai to Bengaluru
- Bengaluru to Varanasi
- Varanasi to Siliguri
These routes focus on improving links in western, southern, and eastern India, supporting nationwide infrastructure advancement.
