Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded a significant AED 633m ($172m) contract to improve Al Mustaqbal Road as a part of its bold plan to boost city mobility, help financial development, and increase high quality of life throughout the emirate.

The Al Mustaqbal Road Improvement Mission will stretch from Za’abeel Palace Road to Monetary Centre Road and consists of the development of latest tunnels and a bridge totalling 1.7km, plus a full avenue widening to 4 lanes in every route.

The improve will improve capability by 33 per cent—dealing with as much as 8,800 autos per hour—and slash journey instances from 13 minutes to only 6.

Al Mustaqbal Road in Dubai upgrades

Three tunnels (1.2km whole)

  • A 3-lane tunnel towards Deira (4,500 autos/hour)
  • A two-lane bi-directional tunnel serving visitors between Deira and Jebel Ali (3,000 autos/hour)
  • A single-lane tunnel for One Central entry (1,500 autos/hour)

  • A 450m, two-lane bridge from DWTC to Za’abeel Palace Road
  • 5 extra bridges (5km whole) connecting Sheikh Zayed Street with different main roads

Road widening

  • Al Mustaqbal Road expanded over 3.5km from three to 4 lanes per route

Intersections and ramps

  • Free-flowing ramps at Exhibition and Commerce Centre Streets
  • Floor-level conversion of Commerce Centre Roundabout to enhance circulation to Sheikh Zayed Street and 2nd December Road

Pedestrian and biking upgrades

  • Pedestrian bridge over Al Sukook Road
  • Devoted biking tracks and upgraded walkways
  • Ornamental lighting and concrete areas for neighborhood use

The initiative will considerably improve entry to and from key business and monetary districts such because the Dubai World Commerce Centre, DIFC, Downtown Dubai, Enterprise Bay, and Za’abeel. RTA estimates the enhancements will profit roughly 500,000 residents and guests.
