IndieWire is proud to announce our inaugural Craft Roundtables collection to roll out all through November and December as movies celebrating the best in cinematic artistry in 2025.
All moderated by IndieWire options author Jim Hemphill, the Craft Roundtables comprise 4 panel discussions filmed at Lumen West LA November 8 specializing in cinematography, casting, manufacturing design, and modifying from motion pictures that will probably be a part of the awards dialog within the months forward.
“These roundtables are a reminder that craft isn’t an abstraction,” mentioned Dana Harris-Bridson, senior VP and Editor in Chief at IndieWire. “It’s the lived expertise of a few of the most ingenious artists working as we speak. While you put them collectively, the dialog turns into each masterclass and artistic reset. We’re thrilled to launch this collection, and much more excited to construct on it as we highlight the individuals shaping the way forward for filmmaking.”
To begin, IndieWire will roll out the cinematography roundtable, which featured interviews with DPs Adolpho Veloso (“Practice Goals”), Malik Hassan Sayeed (“After the Hunt”), Michael Bauman (“One Battle After One other”), and William Rexer (“The Testomony of Ann Lee”). Now you can watch the preliminary interviews with Veloso, Sayeed, and Bauman.
Then we’ll be celebrating casting with the rollout of our dialog with casting administrators Nina Gold (“Jay Kelly”), Margery Simkin (“Avatar: Hearth & Ash”), and Jessica Ronane (“After the Hunt”).
For the manufacturing design roundtable, we’re welcoming manufacturing designers Cara Brower (“Hedda”), Sam Bader (“The Testomony of Ann Lee”), Alexandra Schaller (“Practice Goals”), Scott Chambliss (“Kiss of the Spider Girl”), and Dylan Cole and Ben Proctor (“Avatar: Hearth & Ash”).
And the modifying roundtable will function editors Kirk Baxter (“A Home of Dynamite”), Alfonso Goncalves (“Hamnet”), Michael P. Shawver (“Sinners”), Andy Jurgenson (“One Battle After One other”), Pamela Martin (“Springsteen: Ship Me from Nowhere”), Saar Klein (“Lifeless Man’s Wire”), and Luke Lynch (“BLKNWS: Phrases & Circumstances”).
Make amends for all of the Craft Roundtables as they’re printed right here.
