Recent photographs offer a detailed view of the interior of Jeffrey Epstein’s former private jet, dubbed the ‘Lolita Express,’ now abandoned in a Georgia aircraft boneyard. The Boeing 727, registered as N908JE, sits exposed to the elements at Stambaugh Aviation in Brunswick, Georgia, where it has remained since its last flight in 2016.
Current Condition of the Aircraft
The nearly 60-year-old jet shows extensive deterioration. Its exterior features dark streaks on the white fuselage, and it lacks its three engines, rendering it unflyable. Inside, the cabin lacks power, resulting in darkness and a pervasive musty odor from humidity and neglect. Mildew covers polished wood surfaces, insects infest high-pile carpeting, and fabrics show signs of rot.
Layout and Features
The interior includes a bedroom with a king-sized mattress covered by a neatly made white comforter, padded flooring, and overhead emergency oxygen masks. Three distinct seating areas feature configurations such as red crushed-velvet walls with couches and armchairs, facing grey half-moon sofas, and plush benches around a wooden table with mirrored walls. The layout also encompasses a galley kitchen and two bathrooms.
Items Discovered Onboard
Numerous personal effects remain scattered throughout. Bathrooms contain Johnson’s baby lotion and powder, moldy shaving cream, used toothbrushes, hair ties, and monogrammed paper napkins. The galley holds stacks of linen placemats, empty water bottles, and coffee supplies. A disassembled satellite phone sits in a bedroom nightstand, while the flight deck has a landline phone with a severed cord stuffed in a drawer. Closets and drawers hold flight manuals and documents.
Prosecutors link the jet to Epstein’s global transport of sex-trafficking victims during its operational years under his ownership from 2001 to 2018.
