International Affairs Canada says it’s conscious that two Canadian residents have been detained in Israel following their involvement in a flotilla to Gaza.
The International Sumud Flotilla is a pro-Palestinian fleet of boats aiming to convey humanitarian assist to Gaza.
International Affairs Canada didn’t determine the detained Canadians or disclose if there are others concerned, stating no additional data may be shared attributable to privateness legal guidelines.

The company says that consular officers are in contact with native authorities and are offering help to people who request it.

The flotilla consists of attorneys, activists and docs, together with Montreal-based epidemiologist and former NDP candidate Nima Machouf.
Activists with the flotilla have mentioned a number of boats within the fleet have been intercepted by Israeli forces over the previous few days.
