Former “Tonight Present” host Jay Leno expressed his help for Jimmy Kimmel after ABC suspended his late evening present indefinitely.
“I’m on Jimmy Kimmel’s facet on that one,” Leno mentioned on the Hollywood Stroll of Fame ceremony for Chris Wallace Thursday. “I’m an enormous proponent of free speech…I feel Jimmy will land on his ft. He’s a gifted man, He’s humorous.”
Kimmel was taken off the air Wednesday after the community and affiliate stations deemed his feedback about Charlie Kirk’s killer to be unsuitable for air.
“You don’t get canceled saying standard issues,” Leno mentioned. “Often, it’s the reality that winds up getting canceled, so we’ll see what occurs.”
“It’s a comic speaking. In case you don’t prefer it, don’t watch it,” he added. “That’s the market. Let the folks determine. If folks like a present, it stays on the air.”
