Jesse Williams, known for his role in Grey’s Anatomy, joins the cast of Apple TV+’s acclaimed series The Morning Show for its fifth season. He steps into the role of Vernon, UBN’s new Head of News—a bold figure skilled at captivating audiences.
Expanding the Ensemble Cast
Williams appears alongside Jeff Daniels in the lineup, which features stars like Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Beharie, Nestor Carbonell, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Jon Hamm, and Karen Pittman.
Award-Winning Legacy
Billy Crudup earned Apple TV+ its first Primetime Emmy in 2020 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, repeating the win in 2024. The series also secured awards for Outstanding Contemporary Hairstyling and Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic) in 2024. Overall, The Morning Show boasts nearly 30 Primetime Emmy nominations.
Production Update
Season 4 concluded last November, with no premiere date announced for season 5. Showrunner Charlotte Stoudt recently commented on the timeline: “I think so. I haven’t spoken to Apple about any release dates, but between season three and four there was a writers strike, so that was quite a long delay. So without that this year, maybe we’ll move a little more quickly. That’s when I knock on wood!”
