Striking Omission in Assassination Clip
One segment from Assassination shows only Jeon Ji-hyun, who plays An Ok-yoon, and Choi Dae-moon, portraying Hwang Deok-sam. In the original footage, retired actor Jo Jin-woong appears alongside Jeon Ji-hyun as the pro-Japanese figure Chin Il-pa, leading a tense pursuit by three assassins. His presence was entirely removed, catching widespread attention.
Jo Jin-woong’s Controversial History
Jo Jin-woong, known for his role, faces scrutiny over past incidents. During his beauty pageant days, he received a probationary sentence for robbery and gang rape charges, with referral to a juvenile facility. Even after rising to fame, records show penalties for drunk driving and other disturbances.
His agency acknowledged: “Wrong actions occurred during the beauty pageant period.” Jo Jin-woong then declared his return to acting.
