Kuwait has accredited a contract price KD999.85m ($3.3bn) with a Chinese language state-owned firm to construct the nation’s largest sewage remedy plant, the official gazette reported on Sunday.
The Central Company for Public Tenders accredited shifting forward with a “direct contract” between the Ministry of Public Works and China State Building Engineering Corp 601668.SS to construct the North Kabd sewage plant.
The challenge is a part of a broader set of China-backed developments in Kuwait, together with the $4bn Mubarak Al-Kabeer port challenge signed in December with China Communications Building Co 601800.SS.
The sewage facility will course of as much as 1 million cubic metres of waste water a day.
The Chinese language firm will design, construct, function and keep the plant over a 10-year interval.
