Lee Ho-seon, a prominent counseling expert and broadcaster, delivered a stunning hat-trick performance in the first round of the Disney+ survival series Unmyeong Jeonjaeng 49.
Impressive First-Round Triumph
The competition, which premiered on January 11, pits 49 fortune tellers against each other in intense challenges to crown top talents from shamans, tarot readers, psychology students, and more. Lee Ho-seon dominated early rounds, earning top ‘fortune master’ rankings in the first three episodes.
However, Round 4 saw confident second-round contenders falter, sparking renewed interest when Park Ha-seon joined the lineup.
Personal Reflections on Instagram
On January 16, Lee Ho-seon shared candid thoughts on Instagram, blending self-reflection with faith. “No matter what anyone says, I am a lifelong Christian,” he wrote. “I’ve counseled for years, bearing even greater burdens.”
He added, “I always keep God’s gaze in mind and pray for every client who joins me.” Lee Ho-seon highlighted his clients’ struggles: “Many carry burdens as unsettling as anxiety, seeking help at counseling centers, religious sites, and fortune-telling spots.”
“I study diligently without forgetting the differences between counseling and shamanism,” he continued. “Whether it’s about losing or finding one’s fortune, or the distinctions between counseling and folk practices, I research to maintain my identity within that space.”
Thoughts on the Hat-Trick Milestone
Reflecting on his hat-trick, Lee Ho-seon noted, “In this highly anticipated program, nailing it in the first recording felt surreal—only after starting did I realize it wasn’t a family affair.”
“It taught me to approach the path ahead with greater caution,” he said. “Even at my age, I learn anew through my shortcomings. On this chosen path, I’ll realign my focus and charge toward reclaiming the title.”
Program Highlights and Competitors
The show features celebrity guests like Park Na-rae, Jeon Hyun-moo, Shin Dong, and Kang Ji-young. Park Na-rae, known for her solid fundamentals, has faced recent slumps, opening opportunities for rising stars like Lee Ho-seon to shine.
