Liam Gallagher Attends New York Court Hearing Remotely
Liam Gallagher, the Oasis frontman, participated in a New York court session via video link last week during an ongoing dispute with Liza Ghorbani, the mother of his 12-year-old daughter Gemma. The singer, aged 53, fathered Gemma during a brief relationship with the music journalist in 2010. He has never met the child, who has autism and requires special educational support.
The proceedings stem from Ghorbani’s 2013 lawsuit seeking £2 million in child support. Current payments stand at approximately £3,000 per month, totaling £750,000 since a 2015 settlement, according to court records from June 2025. Ghorbani now requests an increase to around £500,000 annually, including £75,000 for nanny fees, £22,500 monthly for housing, and £5,000 for vacations.
Accusations Fly in the Dispute
During the hearing, Gallagher accused Ghorbani of misusing funds intended for their daughter’s care. In response, she claimed he has been speaking negatively about her. Ghorbani has also moved to examine Gallagher’s finances, focusing on earnings from his recent Britpop tour, estimated at £350 million.
Gallagher previously faced fines for missing court dates and has publicly acknowledged not meeting his daughter, though he expressed willingness to provide assistance if required.
Gallagher’s Family Background
Gallagher has four children from different relationships. He shares daughter Molly, 27, with singer Lisa Moorish; son Lennon, 26, with ex-wife Patsy Kensit; and son Gene, 24, with ex-wife Nicole Appleton. He is currently engaged to his manager, Debbie Gwyther, 40, and maintains a more stable personal life.
Patsy Kensit’s Recent Revelation
Meanwhile, Gallagher’s ex-wife Patsy Kensit announced plans to auction diamond earrings he gifted her during their 1997-2000 marriage. The actress, who shares son Lennon with Gallagher, set a £10,000 reserve price for the jewelry through antiques expert Tom Keane at The Swan at Tetsworth auction next month.
Kensit explained her decision amid financial pressures, stating, ‘Times are tough. There are a lot of actors and actresses like me that have to tighten their belts.’ She added, ‘I won’t be the first woman that will have sold jewelry that her ex gave her. I hope the earrings go to a good home.’
Reflecting on their past, Kensit noted she has not seen Gallagher in 26 years. On the TV show Never Mind The Buzzcocks, she commented on Oasis’s reunion, saying, ‘No, I watched the whole thing unfold and it was magical, those memories, and I haven’t seen Liam for 26 years. But I’m so happy for Lennon because he’s gone to watch this cultural explosion. I couldn’t be happier for the band and all the people rediscovering them.’
