Michael B. Jordan is in early talks to star in a reboot of “Miami Vice” from “F1” and “High Gun: Maverick” filmmaker Joseph Kosinski. Within the relaunch, Jordan would play Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs, a personality originated by Philip Michael Thomas and later taken on by Jamie Foxx.
“Miami Vice” Tubbs and James “Sonny” Crockett (a personality initially performed by Don Johnson and later portrayed by Colin Farrell), two undercover detectives who delve into Miami’s underworld of crime and medicines. The position of Sonny has not but been solid within the movie.
“Miami Vice” began as a TV sequence, created by Anthony Yerkovich, that ran from 1984 to 1989. It was later revived by Michael Mann (who government produced the present) as a movie in 2006.
Its was introduced in September that Common was slating the most recent incarnation of the “Miami Vice” franchise for Aug. 6, 2027. Dan Gilroy, who simply received an Emmy for his work on the “Star Wars” sequence “Andor,” will write the script with two-time Oscar nominee Eric Singer. Kosinski will produce with Dylan Clark.
“Miami Vice” would mark one other feather within the cap of franchise main man Jordan, who beforehand headlined movies similar to “Creed,” “Black Panther” and “Incredible 4.” This 12 months, Jordan noticed extensive approval for his position in “Sinners.”
