The report evaluated the primary 12 months of California’s Peer-to-Peer Youth Psychological Well being Excessive College Pilot Demonstration, a three-year initiative to strengthen scholar well-being by coaching highschool college students to help their friends. The pilot was funded and operated by means of a partnership between the California Division of Well being Care Providers and the Youngsters’s Partnership throughout eight highschool campuses.
In keeping with the report, 936 college students accessed peer-to-peer help providers and 140 college students have been educated as peer mentors. Roughly 96% of scholars stated they felt higher after receiving peer help, and about 88% stated they felt snug opening as much as a peer mentor.
