Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi plans to endorse Jack Schlossberg, grandson of President John F. Kennedy, in the competitive race for New York’s 12th Congressional District. Pelosi, a key Democratic leader, will reveal her support for the online political commentator on Sunday.
Outsider Candidate with Kennedy Legacy
Schlossberg, who grew up in the district, enters the Democratic primary as a political newcomer despite his famous family name. Lacking traditional establishment backing and prior elected experience, he campaigns on his social media platform, discussing national politics, mental health, and personal adventures like paddleboarding.
A Yale and Harvard graduate, Schlossberg once served as a political reporter for Vogue. His mother, Caroline Kennedy, held ambassador posts to Japan under President Barack Obama and to Australia under President Joe Biden.
Family Divide on Politics
Schlossberg launched his congressional bid in November 2025. He has openly distanced himself from cousin Robert F. Kennedy Jr., criticizing RFK Jr.’s 2023 presidential run as an “embarrassment” and backing President Biden instead.
This endorsement from Pelosi could bolster Schlossberg’s challenge in the high-stakes New York City district.
