Mueller’s Career Highlights
Mueller directed the FBI for 12 years, from 2001 to 2013. President George W. Bush appointed him to the role shortly after the September 11 attacks. During his tenure, Mueller oversaw major national security efforts.
Later, as special counsel for the Department of Justice under President Donald Trump’s first term, Mueller examined Russia’s alleged election meddling. The probe, spanning nearly two years, uncovered no conclusive evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.17
Trump’s Reaction
President Donald Trump addressed Mueller’s death in a Truth Social post Saturday afternoon. “Robert Mueller just died. Good, I’m glad he’s dead,” Trump wrote. “He can no longer hurt innocent people!”440
