Russia‘s defence ministry launched video footage on Wednesday of what it mentioned was a downed drone at a briefing supposed to point out Ukraine tried this week to assault a presidential residence and problem Kyiv’s denials that such an assault happened.

Kyiv says Moscow has produced no proof to help its allegations and that Russia invented the alleged assault to dam progress at talks on ending the warfare in Ukraine.

Romanenkov mentioned 91 drones had been launched from Ukraine’s Sumy and Chernihiv areas in a “completely deliberate” assault that he mentioned was thwarted by Russian air defences, prompted no injury and injured nobody.

The video launched by the ministry included footage of a Russian serviceman standing subsequent to fragments of a tool which he mentioned was a downed Ukrainian Chaklun-V drone carrying a 6-kg explosive system which had not detonated.

The ministry didn’t clarify the way it knew what the system’s goal was.

Chatting with Reuters, Ukrainian Overseas Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi mentioned the footage was “laughable” and that Kyiv was “completely assured that no such assault happened.”

Reuters couldn’t verify the placement and the date of the footage displaying fragments of a destroyed system. The mannequin of the destroyed system couldn’t be instantly verified.

Different footage featured a person, recognized as Igor Bolshakov from a village within the Novgorod area, saying he had heard air defence rockets in motion.
