Hit musical Jesus Christ Celebrity shall be returning to London subsequent summer season, with vocal powerhouse Sam Ryder main the corporate as Jesus.
The musical shall be staged at The London Palladium and can run for a restricted 11-week season from June 20 to September 5, 2026. This follows on from the 2025 summer season run of Evita starring Rachel Zegler on the Palladium, which obtained rave opinions from critics.
Sam, who rose to fame after representing the UK on the Eurovision Tune Contest again in 2022, shall be making his West Finish debut within the function of Jesus. Talking about this information, he stated: “I’m so excited to be a part of one of many greatest establishments in musical theatre the world’s ever identified, at The London Palladium within the West Finish! I’m honoured to tackle this accountability as I comply with within the footsteps of rock vocal titans like Ian Gillan and John Farnham. I can’t wait to immerse myself within the phrase of Jesus Christ Celebrity in 2026.”
Producer Michael Harrison stated: “It’s thrilling to be bringing this astounding artistic workforce from the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre manufacturing again collectively, and I’m excited to see them create Jesus Christ Celebrity specifically for The London Palladium. In Sam now we have a real celebrity to play the enduring title function, and I look ahead to sharing additional bulletins concerning the manufacturing within the coming months.”
With lyrics by Tim Rice and music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Jesus Christ Celebrity is a rock opera musical which was first launched as an idea album in 1970. That includes songs similar to ‘Gethsemane’, ‘Heaven on their Minds’, and ‘I Don’t Know How To Love Him’, the musical tells the story of Jesus’ last weeks of life, from the angle of Judas.
First launched as an idea album in 1970, the present obtained its Broadway premiere in 1971 earlier than debuting within the West Finish the next 12 months. The 2026 London Palladium manufacturing shall be directed by Tim Sheader, who beforehand introduced the present at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in 2016 and 2017.

Tickets for Jesus Christ Celebrity go on presale on Tuesday November 25, 2025 at 10am and basic sale on Wednesday November 26 at 10am.
