Speculation arose last week over whether the Seattle Seahawks would skip the customary White House visit as Super Bowl champions. Team officials confirmed no invitation has arrived, leaving decisions pending.
Macdonald Addresses Rumors at Scouting Combine
Head coach Mike Macdonald fielded questions on the matter during his Wednesday session at the NFL Scouting Combine.
“We haven’t gotten an invite yet, and then we’ll address it after that,” Macdonald stated from the podium.
Following the formal press conference, Macdonald expanded to reporters on the potential visit. “I would hope so,” he remarked when asked about receiving an invitation. “I mean, yeah… I don’t know. We’re going to get an invite, right? That’s how it works? Not really sure how it works.”
Likelihood of Acceptance and Potential Challenges
Analysis indicates the Seahawks will most likely accept any formal invitation extended by the White House.
This stance carries weight, as administration officials may hesitate to issue an invite if rejection appears probable. Additionally, even if the team accepts, certain players could opt out of the trip.
