Shannon Sharpe opened up Wednesday night on his ESPN ousting … and he positive did not sound like a man who’s all that torn up over the break up.
The NFL legend stated on his “Nightcap” podcast he is “at peace with” the community’s choice to offer him the axe following his settlement together with his rape accuser … explaining, “They did what they felt they wanted to do.”
He did, although, say he wished ESPN had waited till subsequent week to leak the information — so his brother, Sterling, might get the entire consideration this weekend for his Professional Soccer Corridor of Fame induction ceremony.
“I simply want, guys,” Sharpe stated, “I simply want this factor might have waited ’til Monday. As a result of I hate the truth that I am overshadowing my brother.”
Sharpe mirrored a bit on his tenure with the community, saying he “actually loved” his time there. He added he was “very, very grateful” ESPN’s viewers acquired to see all of his character.
But he made it clear, the most important situation he had with the breakup was the timing.
“The primary two brothers within the Professional Soccer Corridor of Fame,” he stated, “and that is what the headline’s going to be for the following couple days.”
Sharpe joined ESPN in 2023 and was a staple on “First Take” for years … till he stepped away from the community in April following his accuser’s bombshell lawsuit.
