A 28-year-old New York man was arrested outdoors an outside mall in Chino Hills on allegations that he, together with a feminine companion, kidnapped a 51-year-old lady and drove her throughout the nation to commit fraud to repay money owed she owed, based on authorities.
Through the cross-country trek, the suspect, Rahson Govantes, and an unidentified lady are accused of torturing their sufferer by burning her with cigarettes and a curling iron, based on a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Division information launch.
Deputies found the sufferer, a resident of North Carolina, and Govantes performing suspiciously and loitering outdoors a Sephora retailer in Chino Hills on Saturday afternoon, based on deputies.

Deputies arrested Govantes and booked him on suspicion of aggravated mayhem, torture, kidnapping and assault with a lethal weapon, the sheriff’s division stated. Detectives are attempting to find out whether or not there are extra victims, and launched Govantes’ reserving photograph. Authorities haven’t been capable of determine the opposite lady who was allegedly concerned within the kidnapping, and he or she stays at giant, based on the sheriff’s division.
