Buffalo has been at the top of the board since the season began. It has been tip-toeing around the Super Bowl in recent years but hasn’t made it to the Big Game since 1993. It has lost in the divisional round three of the last five years and has lost in the AFC title game twice in the last five years, both times at Kansas City, including last season.
The Bills are coming off their first loss of the season, falling at home to the Patriots and moving to 4-1.
The second team on the board is the Detroit Lions, winners of four straight after a season-opening loss to the third team on the board, the Green Bay Packers.
The defending champion Eagles dropped slightly on the oddsboard, after suffering their first loss of the season in Week 5, falling to the Denver Broncos.
Outside the Chiefs going back-to-back in 2022 and 2023, winning two in a row is a feat seldom accomplished in the Super Bowl era. New England won the Super Bowl in 2003 and 2004. Before that, the Broncos won in 1997 and 1998, and the Cowboys won in 1993 and 1994.
The Niners went back-to-back in 1988 and 1989; the Steelers won in 1974 and 1975, and then again in 1978 and 1979.
The Dolphins won in 1972 and 1973, and the Packers won in 1966 and 1967.
