The UAE has signed AED3.776bn ($1.03bn) in defence and safety contracts on the opening day of the 2025 Dubai Airshow, underscoring the nation’s rising affect in superior navy procurement and industrial capabilities.
Tawazun Council for Defence Enablement (Tawazun) introduced eight agreements on behalf of the Ministry of Defence with native and worldwide corporations.
The announcement was made by official spokespersons Majed Ahmed Al Jaberi, Abdulla Ahmed Al Saeei and Manea Abdulkarim Al Mansoori.
They highlighted the central function of the Directorate of Planning and Procurement, which oversees execution of the agreements and ensures strategic alignment, provider engagement and operational effectivity throughout the UAE’s defence ecosystem.
UAE native defence contracts
Abdulla Al Saeedi detailed six native contracts signed on behalf of the Ministry of Defence with a complete worth of AED3.041bn ($830m).
These included:
- International Air Navigation Providers (GANS): AED1.294bn ($352.4m) for air navigation providers and specialised manpower
- International Aerospace Logistics (GAL): AED600m ($163.4m) for follow-on help, spare components and technical help
- Worldwide Golden Group (two contracts):
- AED415m ($113.1m) for follow-up help for plane
- AED299m ($81.4m) to supply airdrop parachutes
- Maximus Air: AED293m ($79.8m) to lease plane
- Abu Dhabi Delivery Company: AED137m ($37.3m) to lease plane
UAE worldwide contracts
Manea Al Mansoori introduced two worldwide offers value AED725m ($197.5m):
- Airbus Helicopters (France): AED512m ($139.4m) for H Care providers for helicopters
- Embraer (Brazil): AED212m ($57.7m) to supply VIP plane
Majed Al Jaberi mentioned the agreements replicate Tawazun’s dedication to deepening strategic partnerships with nationwide and worldwide defence corporations, reinforcing the UAE’s built-in defence ecosystem and supporting enhanced functionality improvement.
The spokespersons added that the Dubai Airshow stays a world platform for defence and aerospace innovation, positioning the UAE as a number one hub for superior industries and knowledge-based financial development.
