US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that Washington plans to execute its most extensive strike operation to date on Thursday amid ongoing military actions targeting Iran. During a Pentagon briefing, Hegseth declared the US is achieving decisive victories on its own terms.
Hegseth Details Major Offensive
Speaking directly to reporters, Hegseth emphasized, “Today will be the largest strike package yet.” He further asserted, “We’re winning decisively and on our terms.”
Key Military Gains Reported
Hegseth highlighted significant setbacks for Iran’s forces, including the complete loss of its 11 submarines. Iran’s military ports stand crippled, and its capacity to produce new ballistic missiles has suffered the most severe blows. Missile launches from Iran have plummeted 90 percent, while drone assaults have decreased by 95 percent since the conflict erupted nearly three weeks ago.
No Timeline for Resolution
Dismissing worries over wartime conduct and potential wider regional involvement as mere distractions, Hegseth avoided specifying an end date. He noted that the president holds final authority to determine when security objectives for the American people are met.
Conflict Enters Third Week
The US-Israel operations against Iran mark their 20th day with no immediate de-escalation in sight. Following a US attack on Iran’s South Pars gas field, Tehran issued warnings of retaliation and fired missiles that struck Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City. Iranian drone operations have also hit refineries in Kuwait, as well as sites in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
