Minister’s Vision for Urban Infrastructure
The Delhi PWD minister emphasized the need for proactive measures amid the city’s rapid expansion. “Delhi’s growth demands modern solutions,” the minister stated. “No one should have to risk their life while crossing a road. These foot over bridges are being built exactly where safety concerns are the highest, ensuring smoother traffic flow and secure passage for pedestrians.”
Highlighting a shift toward efficient development, the minister added, “We are moving away from the culture of slow infrastructure. Construction of the approved foot over bridges will begin by February 2026 and projects will be completed within the defined time frame. Accountability and speed are now non-negotiable.”
Prior to this approval, the minister directed all MLAs to propose solutions for traffic bottlenecks in their constituencies. Officials anticipate that these bridges will significantly reduce congestion and provide much-needed relief to pedestrians navigating Delhi’s bustling streets.
