DON CARLOS, BUKIDNON, Philippines — Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez conducted the inaugural runway landing at the nearly finished Bukidnon airport on Friday, January 30, during an on-site inspection of the highly anticipated infrastructure project located in Barangay Maraymaray.

Lopez touched down in a twin-engine private aircraft, accompanied by senior officials from the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP). The visit marks a significant milestone for the P3.46-billion development, aimed at enhancing connectivity in the region.
The airport, designed to serve as a vital gateway for Bukidnon’s tourism and agricultural sectors, features modern facilities to accommodate growing air traffic. Officials highlighted the project’s progress, noting that completion will boost local economic growth and improve access to remote areas.
