Dubai will see electrical air taxis developed by Joby Aviation take off and start business operations by the tip of this 12 months, in keeping with Roads and Transport Authority Chairman Mattar Al Tayer.
Joby Aviation carried out the primary check flight of its absolutely electrical air taxi within the emirate in June 2025, a serious milestone in Dubai’s efforts to introduce them into its current transport networks.
The Joby Aerial Taxi, the flagship electrical vertical take-off and touchdown plane developed by the California-based firm, can fly distances of as much as 160km at speeds reaching 320kmph.

With zero working emissions, Joby’s air taxi is designed to be each eco-friendly and quiet sufficient for business use in dense city areas.
In early 2024, Joby signed a contract with Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority that awarded the corporate unique rights to function aerial taxis within the metropolis for the subsequent six years.
