A subsidiary of German chemical firm BASF and Canada’s AltaGas have signed a butane-gas deal, the businesses stated on Wednesday.
BASF Intertrade and AltaGas stated they’ve signed a long-term industrial settlement for the provision of butane through AltaGas and Royal Vopak’s Ridley Island Vitality Export Facility (REEF), commencing in 2027.
The settlement will present BASF with entry to aggressive and dependable butane from Western Canada, and the partnership will diversify BASF’s cracker feedstock portfolio, the comlanies stated.
REEF is a large-scale, open entry liquefied petroleum gasoline and bulk liquids terminal with rail and marine infrastructure at present beneath development on Ridley Island in British Columbia.
REEF is anticipated to be accomplished by the top of 2026.
