Influencer Lorna Luxe, 43, shares the poignant final words of her late husband John, who passed away at 64 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Heartbreaking Announcement
Lorna announced John’s death on Thursday, devastating her 1.7 million Instagram followers. She posted a photo of John smiling on holiday with a touching caption revealing their last exchange.
“The last conversation we had, I asked him how he was feeling, and he replied ‘rough but in love,'” Lorna wrote. “That was so him—to the point and choosing to put aside his fears to make me feel cherished and loved.”
John, 21 years Lorna’s senior, fought stage four adrenal cancer since his diagnosis in April 2023. The couple shared 16 years of marriage. Last month, Lorna informed her followers that the cancer had spread and treatment was no longer viable.
Final Moments at Home
John passed away on Wednesday at home in their bed, holding hands, as he wished. Lorna expressed deep gratitude to the district nurses for daily support, especially Anna, whom she called a “real-life angel.”
She also thanked her mother for providing strength during those final days. “John, you are a class act, and I will love you forever,” Lorna added.
Stars Offer Condolences
Celebrities rallied with messages of support. Sophie Hinchliffe, known as Mrs Hinch, wrote: “Lorna, I am so, so sorry. My heart truly dropped reading this. I’ve followed your page for such a long time, and the love you and John shared has always been so inspiring. Millions of us are here to help hold you up.”
Molly-Mae Hague shared: “Heartbroken for you. Rest in peace, John. I am so beyond sorry for your loss.”
Abbey Clancy posted: “Oh Lorna, can’t find any words. Love you both. Sending so much love.” Olivia Bowen added: “My heart is so broken for you. You guys have the most beautiful love story.”
Other tributes came from Rosie Williams, Megan McKenna, and Lauren Pope, who called John a “special soul.”
A Love Story That Inspired Many
Lorna and John met when she was 25, working as a Virgin Atlantic air hostess. They married soon after in New York City and settled in Hove, East Sussex, later moving to Horsham and Warwickshire.
John, a former banker, left his job after his stage three cancer diagnosis in 2023 to focus on health and supporting Lorna’s influencer career. The pair embraced a lavish lifestyle with luxury hotel stays and trips abroad.
Lorna often highlighted John’s generosity. He surprised her early on by buying their first home. “He was helping me flat hunt, and as soon as I turned up, I thought, ‘I can’t afford this’—and then he said, ‘I’ve bought this for us,'” she recalled.
“One dynamic in our relationship that has never changed is that he organizes everything. I just have to turn up and ideally look cute,” she shared. John upgraded her engagement ring to 15 carats for their 15th anniversary and spoiled her with gifts like makeup and skincare during their early dates.
In recent years, they lived life fully, cherishing every moment despite the illness.
