S Club star Tina Barrett reveals the band’s excitement about reuniting for new projects, including a major comeback tour set for early 2027.
During the Cabaret Gala Night at London’s Kit Kat Club this month, Barrett shared updates with Perry Presents. “We haven’t parted ways; we’ve actually got some projects that we’re working on,” she stated. “I can’t confirm anything, but yes, you will be seeing more of us, and hopefully everyone’s as excited as we are. We’ve got new stuff to show you, that’s for sure.”
Tour Details and Lineup
The group plans arena-sized concerts across the UK starting next February, nearly three years after singer Paul Cattermole’s passing. Rachel Stevens, Jo O’Meara, Jon Lee, and Tina Barrett have committed to the tour, with Bradley McIntosh also on board. Efforts continue to include Hannah Spearritt, despite tensions from 2023.
Spearritt left the previous tour after selling an interview about Cattermole, violating a group agreement to remain silent pending the cause of his death. Sources close to the project note significant anticipation: “There is so much excitement about this tour. They have a huge fan base and a very loyal following, so S Club would be thrilled to perform for them again. It will also be a fantastic way to once again remember Paul, who they so desperately miss.” Some insiders believe Spearritt may participate, though past conflicts linger.
Recent History and Legacy
Last year, Jon Lee hinted at nostalgia on social media: “I have always been a nostalgic person. The kind who clings to old songs, saved texts, and memories that seem too small to matter, yet mean everything.”
S Club, formerly S Club 7, reunited in 2023 for their 25th anniversary. Weeks later, Cattermole died suddenly at 46 from heart failure. The band proceeded with The Good Times Tour and released their first single in over 20 years, “These Are the Days,” in his memory.
Formed in 1998 by Simon Fuller, the group rose to fame via BBC’s Miami 7. Hits like “Bring It All Back” (No. 1 in 1999), “S Club Party,” “Reach,” and “Never Had a Dream Come True” followed, with U.S. success for the latter. Cattermole departed in 2002, leading to the band’s 2003 split and the launch of S Club Juniors. Rachel Stevens pursued a solo career, reaching the Strictly Come Dancing final in 2008.
