President Donald Trump launched a sharp social media critique targeting Rep. Ilhan Omar and Minnesota’s Somali community, escalating his ongoing disputes with state officials.
Trump’s Truth Social Post
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described Omar as a ‘scammer’ and demanded action against her and members of the Somali community. ‘“Scammer” Ilhan Omar and her absolutely terrible friends from Somalia should all be in jail right now or, far worse, send them back to Somalia,’ he wrote.
He also criticized Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, labeling him as either the most corrupt or incompetent official in history. ‘“Governor” Walz is either the most CORRUPT government official in history, or the most INCOMPETENT. Even a very low IQ person, of which there are many, should have known what was going on in Minnesota!!!’ Trump added.
Context of the Feud
Trump’s comments stem from his recent focus on Minnesota amid an alleged fraud scandal linked to Somali-owned daycares. In response, federal immigration enforcement agents numbering in the thousands have been sent to the state.
The operation has proven chaotic, leading to the deaths of two American citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, earlier this month.
