FBI Director Kash Patel mentioned Saturday the company is ramping up its use of synthetic intelligence (AI) instruments to counter home and worldwide threats.
In a publish on X, Patel mentioned the FBI has been advancing its expertise, calling AI a “key part” of its technique to answer threats and keep “forward of the sport.”
“FBI has been engaged on key expertise advances to maintain us forward of the sport and reply to an at all times altering menace setting each domestically and on the world stage,” Patel wrote. “Synthetic intelligence is a key part of this.
“We’ve been engaged on an AI mission to help our investigators and analysts within the nationwide safety house — staying forward of dangerous actors and adversaries who search to do us hurt.”
Patel added that FBI management has established a “expertise working group” led by outgoing Deputy Director Dan Bongino to make sure the company’s instruments “evolve with the mission.”
“These are investments that may pay dividends for America’s nationwide safety for many years to come back,” Patel mentioned.
