Perry Bamonte — a longtime guitarist and keyboardist for The Treatment — has died … the band introduced Friday.
The group shared the unhappy information to their official web site … revealing Bamonte handed away at his house after a brief sickness over Christmas.
The submit describes Bamonte as “quiet, intense, intuitive, fixed and massively inventive” … calling him an integral a part of the band’s story.
Perry began touring with The Treatment in 1984 as a roadie … working as a private assistant to Robert Smith and likewise as a guitar technician.
Keyboardist Roger O’Donnell left the band in 1990 — and Bamonte stepped up — recurrently enjoying each keyboard and guitar.
Bamonte was let go from the group in 2005 by Smith … however the two remained on good phrases … and he returned to tour with The Treatment in 2022. In 2019, Bamonte and the remainder of The Treatment have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Corridor of Fame.
He was 65.
