Settlement follows talks geared toward ending weeks of lethal clashes alongside the Thailand-Cambodia border.

Thailand and Cambodia stated they’ve signed a ⁠ceasefire ​settlement to finish weeks of fierce preventing alongside their border that has killed greater than 100 folks and compelled the displacement of greater than half 1,000,000 civilians in each nations.

“Either side conform to a direct ceasefire after the time of signature of this Joint Assertion,” ‍the Thai and Cambodian defence ⁠ministers stated in an announcement on Saturday.

The ceasefire is scheduled to take impact at midday native time (05:00 GMT) and extends to “all forms of weapons” and “assaults on civilians, civilian objects and infrastructures, and army targets of both facet, in all circumstances and all areas”.

The settlement, signed by Thai Defence Minister Natthaphon Narkphanit and his Cambodian counterpart Tea Seiha, ‌ends 20 days of preventing, the worst between the 2 Southeast Asian neighbours in years.
