Background on Rohit Shetty and Similar Incidents
Rohit Shetty stands as one of India’s leading filmmakers, renowned for hit franchises like Golmaal and Singham. This event echoes a 2024 incident where gunfire targeted actor Salman Khan’s Bandra home. In that case, two assailants on a motorcycle escaped after shooting, and the Lawrence Bishnoi gang later claimed responsibility via social media.
The gang also connected itself to the killing of Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, a Khan associate. Bishnoi, serving time in prison, maintains a longstanding rivalry with Khan, rooted in the Blackbuck poaching case from years ago. The Bishnoi community views the blackbuck as sacred, leading to repeated threats against the actor.
Since the attack on his residence, Salman Khan operates under intensified protection. Authorities continue to probe the firing at Shetty’s home, with updates expected as the investigation progresses.
