Ryan Thomas, the actor best known for his role on Coronation Street, recently celebrated a major milestone for his 17-year-old daughter, Scarlett. She has signed with a record label and is preparing to travel to the United States to record new tracks with acclaimed songwriter Julien Bunetta.
Exciting Collaboration with Industry Heavyweight
Scarlett’s new partnership connects her with a powerhouse in the music world. Julien Bunetta, who contributed to One Direction’s Take Me Home album, has also collaborated with artists like Sabrina Carpenter. This opportunity marks a significant step in Scarlett’s budding music career as she follows in the footsteps of global stars.
Ryan, 41, discussed the development on his podcast, At Home With The Thomas Brothers. He expressed astonishment at the connections involved, noting that the label is owned by brothers who share ties with Bunetta. “What’s unbelievable about all this is the guy that she signed to, the boys that she signed to, have two other brothers who own the record label in the States – and this guy is called Julien Bunetta,” Ryan said.
He highlighted Bunetta’s prominence in the industry and shared details of Scarlett’s upcoming plans. “In the music industry he’s probably the biggest thing right now. And Scarlett is now next month flying out to his house to record in studio. And this is in Nashville. In Nashville, she’s staying there for a week.”
A Dream Come True in Music City
Ryan reflected on the surreal nature of the moment, emphasizing Nashville’s role as a hub for creative talent. “And it’s just crazy to think that she’s going to be in that studio in Nashville, where music is basically originating from, where all the creative music people live, and she’s going to be in and around it, just living and breathing and potentially like a song that we’re all going to hear on the radio one day,” he added. “Like, how proud are we as a family?”
Earlier this month, Ryan posted on Instagram about the signing day, calling it one of the best moments of his life. “Today is one of the best days of my life. Watching my little girl sign a record deal is a moment I will cherish forever,” he wrote. He recounted a touching family anecdote, recalling how Scarlett once stood on a chair at the same restaurant five years ago, singing ‘A Million Dreams’ in front of relatives. “The stars were all aligned today. As we turned up at the restaurant to sign the deal Scarlett said ‘I’ve been here before dad!!’ & then we found this video.”
Scarlett echoed her father’s excitement on social media, sharing her gratitude for the journey ahead. “Wow what an experience I have had so far and what an experience I’m about to have, I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity,” she posted. “Today was a life changing moment for me, I’ve been working hard behind the scenes but I can now finally share it with you all. I can’t wait for what this year brings, hopefully some amazing music xxx.”
