New Legal Woes for TV Personality’s Former Partner

Chase McWhorter, former spouse of ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ personality Miranda McWhorter, has encountered renewed legal challenges following his fourth traffic-related police intervention in Utah. The latest incident occurred on January 25 when Bluffdale Police stopped McWhorter’s vehicle, resulting in misdemeanor charges for operating without insurance and an infraction for failing to present a driver’s license.

Pattern of Traffic Violations Emerges

Court records reveal McWhorter’s ongoing transportation-related legal issues began with a significant July 2025 arrest. Officers reportedly observed erratic driving patterns before charging him with driving under the influence, cocaine possession, and operating a vehicle with a suspended license. A police affidavit described visible signs of impairment including bloodshot eyes, alcohol odor, and slurred speech.

Following a $2,500 bond release, McWhorter pleaded not guilty to these initial charges, with court proceedings scheduled to continue in March. Subsequent traffic stops occurred in September and December 2025, both resulting in charges for driving with suspended credentials. McWhorter resolved the September citation with a guilty plea and fine payment in November 2025, while the December case remains pending.

Public Accountability and Reflection

After details of his DUI arrest became public, McWhorter addressed the incident through social media. “My decision to drive under the influence was shortsighted, selfish, and dangerous,” he stated in a TikTok video. “I should have used ride-sharing services – that choice kills people daily and I fully understand its severity.”

The reality television personality characterized the arrest as a “humiliating low” and acknowledged needing to address personal challenges. “This doesn’t reflect my upbringing or the people around me who recognize how irresponsible this was,” McWhorter added during his video statement.

Ongoing Legal Proceedings

McWhorter faces an arraignment on March 4 for the most recent charges while awaiting resolution of his DUI case. The former couple, married from 2017 until their 2024 divorce, share custody of two children aged 6 and 4.
