Maryland has named Clint Trickett, 34, as its new offensive coordinator. Trickett recently accepted a quarterbacks coach position at Arkansas under head coach Ryan Silverfield but will now lead the Terrapins’ offense.
Replacing Pep Hamilton
Trickett steps in for Pep Hamilton, a seasoned coordinator with experience at both college and NFL levels. Hamilton guided Maryland’s offense during the 2025 season and transitions to an off-field staff role with the program.
Trickett’s Proven Track Record
A former quarterback at Florida State and West Virginia, Trickett is the son of veteran college coach Rick Trickett. His coaching resume includes stints as offensive coordinator at Jacksonville State in 2025, Marshall in 2022 and 2023, plus roles at Georgia Southern and Florida Atlantic.
Leading the Terrapins’ Offense
Trickett inherits a unit anchored by quarterback Malik Washington, who shattered Maryland freshman records with 2,963 passing yards and 273 completions in 2025. The Terrapins ranked 93rd nationally in scoring that year.
