Saputo Cheese USA has launched a voluntary recall of select Great Value brand cottage cheese products sold at Walmart stores across 24 states. The action stems from concerns that liquid dairy ingredients may not have undergone full pasteurization to meet state regulatory standards.
Company officials identified the issue during pasteurizer troubleshooting exercises conducted alongside the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The affected equipment has since returned to normal operation, with verification and sealing completed by state authorities.39
These products reached Walmart stores and distribution centers between February 17 and February 20, 2026. Consumers who purchased them should avoid consumption and return them to Walmart for a full refund or dispose of them safely.
