US Central Command announced that its forces destroyed 43 Iranian naval vessels and struck more than 3,000 targets across Iran in a major operation spanning just seven days. The announcement, posted on X, highlights the scale of the strikes targeting key military infrastructure.
Key Targets Hit
Strikes focused on Iranian government intelligence and command centers, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) joint staff and command facilities, integrated air defense systems, underground missile bases, naval ship bases and submarines, large missile bases, and personnel barracks. Officials confirmed over 3,000 precise target engagements in total.
Advanced Assets Deployed
The operation mobilized B-1 bombers, B-2 stealth bombers, bunker-busting munitions such as the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator, cruise missiles, and Patriot and THAAD missile defense interceptors.
Air Force Involvement
Fighters including F-15s, F-16s, F-22s, F-35 stealth jets, and A-10 attack aircraft participated, alongside EA-18G electronic warfare planes, AWACS airborne early warning systems, aerial refueling tankers, P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft, RC-135 reconnaissance planes, and MQ-9 Reaper drones.
Additional Platforms
Forces also deployed M-142 HIMARS rocket systems, nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, guided-missile destroyers, drone carriers, cluster munitions, C-17 Globemaster transports, C-130 cargo planes, and various submarines. Even specialized task forces were activated for comprehensive coverage.
