Three 16-year-olds face armed robbery charges after stealing a pizza bag from a delivery worker at gunpoint in Winnipeg’s West End on Thursday evening.
Robbery Details
Officers responded to a robbery report at an apartment complex in the 500 block of Victor Street, north of Ellice Avenue, around 7:30 p.m. The delivery worker arrived to drop off a pizza and was met outside by a teenage girl who asked him to wait. Moments later, two boys approached, displayed what looked like a handgun, and demanded the pizza bag.
Arrests and Seizure
Police located one 16-year-old boy on a sidewalk in the 400 block of Broadway, just west of the legislature, around 10 p.m. The major crimes unit, assisted by a tactical support team and patrol units, arrested a 16-year-old girl and another 16-year-old boy at a residence in the 500 block of Victor Street. Authorities seized the weapon, identified as a CO2-propelled gun.
All three suspects have been charged with armed robbery using a firearm and released on undertakings.
