A 32-year-old Alabama man faces domestic violence strangulation charges after allegedly attempting to choke his wife during an argument, only to be knocked unconscious by her 13-year-old son.
Details of the Confrontation
Deputies from the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in Foley, Alabama, around 8 p.m. Monday. Authorities report that Daniel Hernandez-Lopez tried to strangle his wife amid a heated dispute.
The woman’s son confronted Hernandez-Lopez, prompting the man to lunge at the teen and attempt to hit him with a bicycle. The 13-year-old delivered multiple punches to Hernandez-Lopez’s face, rendering him unconscious before law enforcement arrived on scene.
Arrest and Additional Findings
Investigators observed that Hernandez-Lopez appeared intoxicated and possibly under the influence of narcotics. Officials also confirmed he is not a U.S. citizen.
Hernandez-Lopez was booked into Baldwin County Jail on Tuesday. No information is available yet on whether he has retained an attorney to address the allegations.
