Tottenham Hotspur extended their winless streak to 13 consecutive Premier League matches following a 0-3 defeat to Nottingham Forest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the 2025-2026 season’s 31st round on March 22 (Korean time).

The loss dropped Spurs from 16th to 17th place, plunging them deeper into the relegation zone. West Ham United’s 0-2 victory over Aston Villa contributed to Tottenham’s slide.

Match Summary

Nottingham Forest struck first in the 30th minute, with Spurs conceding again just two minutes later in the 32nd. Despite a halftime tactical shift by manager Igor Tudor, who substituted Van de Ven and Spence for Bentancur and Udogie, Tottenham trailed 0-2 at the break.

Tudor deployed a 4-4-2 formation. Vicario guarded goal, backed by a defensive line of Van de Ven, Romero, Danso, and Spence. The midfield featured Tel, Sarr, Gray, and Porro, while Solanke and Richarlison led the attack up front.

Spurs pushed forward in the second half, launching attacks down the flanks, but Nottingham’s counters proved decisive. The visitors finished clinically on the break, securing a third goal and completing the rout.

Manager’s Reaction

Igor Tudor, brought in as a ‘firefighter’ to steady the ship, voiced his embarrassment over the manner of the goals conceded. “The feelings from conceding those goals are hard to shake,” he admitted post-match.

Fan Frustration Boils Over

Disappointed supporters voiced their anger during the game. Chants of ridicule echoed around the stadium after the second goal, with some fans calling for the venue to be torn down. Others invoked former manager Mauricio Pochettino’s name amid the poor form.

Nottingham’s fans celebrated wildly, having pulled off a statement win.

What’s Next

Tottenham face Sunderland on April 12, a crucial relegation six-pointer that could define their survival hopes.
