Alaska Airways’ operations resumed late Sunday after it had requested for a floor cease for all of the airline’s mainline plane, in response to the airline and the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
The FAA’s standing web page and Alaska Airways mentioned the bottom cease was canceled as of 11 p.m. native time, following the airline’s request for the bottom cease over an IT outage hours earlier.
“At roughly 8 p.m. Pacific on July 20, we skilled an IT outage that resulted in a brief, system-wide floor cease for Alaska Airways and Horizon Air flights,” a spokesperson for the airline mentioned in a press release to FOX Enterprise.

“As of 11 p.m. Pacific, the bottom cease has been lifted, and our operations have resumed,” the spokesperson continued. “As we reposition our plane and crews, there’ll probably be residual impacts to our flights. It’s going to take a while to get our total operations again to regular.”
The assertion added: “We apologize for the inconvenience and encourage company to verify the standing of your flight earlier than leaving for the airport.”
