The Trump administration is demanding greater than $1 billion from the College of California, Los Angeles, as a part of an effort to reinstate a whole lot of thousands and thousands in beforehand suspended federal analysis funding based on media studies.

Beneath the proposal, obtained by The New York Instances on Friday, UCLA would pay $1 billion to the U.S. authorities and contribute $172 million to a claims fund to compensate victims of civil rights violations.

If accepted, it will mark the biggest payout by any college to achieve a cope with the White Home. By comparability, Columbia College agreed to pay $221 million in its settlement, whereas Brown College dedicated $50 million to state workforce applications.
