Escaped Monkey in Mississippi Killed By Frightened Mom

One of many escaped monkeys in Mississippi was shot and killed Sunday morning by a mother who advised the Related Press she feared for the protection of her youngsters.

The AP experiences Jessica Bond Ferguson — a mother-of-five residing in Heidelberg, Mississippi — was alerted to a monkey operating within the yard outdoors their residence by her 16-year-old son this morning … and, when she seemed, she says the monkey was simply 60 toes from her residence.

Ferguson advised the outlet she fired her gun … “I did what some other mom would do to guard her youngsters. I shot at it and it simply stood there, and I shot once more, and he backed up and that is when he fell.”

As you realize … a truck overturned in late October that was carrying Rhesus monkeys from Tulane Nationwide Biomedical Analysis Middle in Louisiana — resulting in 21 monkeys escpaing the automobile.

13 have been coralled by authorities, 5 have been shot on sight after a supervisor mistakenly claimed the monkeys have been contaminated with COVID, herpes, and hepatitis C — authorities later clarified they weren’t — however three escaped into the wild.
