Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez descended on Venice, Italy, this week, alongside with roughly 200 friends, because the billionaire and former journalist acquired married. The pair had been met with “No House for Bezos” protests, which succeeded in forcing the couple to maneuver a part of their celebration forward of the principle occasion Friday, June 27.
The pair reportedly deliberate to get married in Cannaregio, within the middle of town. However mounting calls towards their nuptials threatened to disrupt the marriage, which was moved elsewhere. The group stated the marriage was moved to Arsenale, to the east of the unique location.
The protests started weeks earlier than Bezos and Sánchez arrived. Organizers had been calling for the marriage to be moved utterly as residents of Venice battle to cope with rising housing prices, partly as a result of metropolis’s perpetual attraction to vacationers.
