Shinsegae Foods’ premium lifestyle brand Kasami introduces the ‘Designers Collection,’ a fresh lineup born from partnerships with leading international designers.
Key Collaborations Spotlighted
The collection features the ‘Aurora’ bedroom series, marking a second collaboration with acclaimed designer Patricia Urquiola. It also includes the ‘MK2’ dining series, crafted alongside Japanese furniture expert Mikiya Kobayashi.
Patricia Urquiola ranks among the world’s top five designers, as recognized by Time magazine. She drives innovation across furniture, public spaces, graphics, and industrial design, currently serving as creative director for Italy’s renowned Cassina brand. Kasami extends collaborations to luminaries from Vibia, Kartell, Molteni, Poltrona Frau, fashion houses like Louis Vuitton and Ferragamo, plus hotel, resort, and automotive sectors.
Design Highlights and Materials
The ‘Aurora’ series blends locally sourced solid wood with innovative color schemes. Its chic headboard boasts gathered detailing for depth and volume, balanced proportions for everyday use, and inherent stability. New shades like towel beige and gray buckle fabric elevate tactile appeal.
Dining pieces incorporate woolnet moon wood bodies, eco-leather seats, and gold collar brass accents for superior texture and refinement. Armchairs fuse semi-buckle fabrics with ash wood frames, prioritizing comfort and durability. Available in ivory and red.
Meanwhile, the ‘MK2’ dining series delivers minimalist elegance through premium wood grains and harmonious finishes.
Strategic Expansion
Kasami initiated this global designer project in 2020, accelerating after consolidating Shinsegae affiliate oversight. The move strengthens its premium furniture leadership in Korea.
A Kasami official stated, “Leveraging evolved designs and deep expertise, we advance in the domestic premium market.” The executive added, “Systematic global collaborations will bolster brand strength and market position.”
