Lee Jae-myung, leader of South Korea’s main opposition Democratic Party, delivered a keynote address at the 107th anniversary commemoration of the March 1st Independence Movement.
Support for Enhanced Japan Ties
Lee pledged ongoing backing for shuttle diplomacy with Japan to foster stronger bilateral relations. He highlighted the need to raise awareness among citizens of both nations about the value of deepening ties and actively facilitate new opportunities for collaboration.
“We will continue shuttle diplomacy with Japan, helping people in both countries feel an even greater need for advancing our relationship and providing strong support for opening fresh prospects,” Lee stated.
Commitment to Regional Harmony
Lee also reaffirmed dedication to peace initiatives in Northeast Asia. He stressed unwavering efforts to promote harmony and positive change, aligning with historic declarations envisioning regional stability as a foundation for global peace.
“In keeping with the aspirations of past declarations to transform Northeast Asia’s peace into worldwide peace, we will not cease our pursuits of harmony and change,” he emphasized.
